The Introduction to Search and Rescue (SAR) Course is designed to provide participants with essential knowledge about the responsibilities, skills, techniques, and equipment required by rescue personnel and teams. This training builds a solid foundation for both field operations and management-level SAR training. Although it focuses primarily on wilderness environments, the material is highly valuable for all types of SAR operations. Key topics include resources, initial response actions, SAR procedures, lost person categories and behavior, search management, and rescuer physiology.

Upon completion, you understand that if you face a real emergency, you are expected to apply only what you have been trained in, without exceeding the limits of your knowledge and skills, in order to protect your safety and the safety of those around you. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Search and Rescue (SAR) Certificate. The certification is designed to be fully aligned with Greek legislation and reflects internationally recognized search and rescue standards and protocols.
Recommendation:
It is strongly recommended that participants renew their certification every two (2) years, in order to stay current with the latest SAR procedures, maintain operational readiness, and reinforce their skills, confidence, and safety awareness during real-world rescue operations.
